Originally from Minnesota, Cora first moved to Memphis with her family in 1986. She returned to Memphis in 2004 to complete her Bachelor of Music in Classical Piano from the University of Memphis. Upon graduation, she worked in the music industry and travelled around the country until she returned to Memphis in 2013. She first tried Pilates in college, but revisited the method when working to correct a hip injury due to poor posture and unbalanced hips. The Pilates method not only provided relief for her hip injury, but she enjoyed it so much that she decided to go through the extensive training for her certification in the method. She completed her 500 comprehensive Pilates training through the Club Pilates Education program in February of 2017. She is also certified in TRX and Barre Above. When Cora is not at Club Pilates East Memphis, you can find her running the streets of Midtown with one of her many rescue pups or cruising around town on some form of 2 wheels.
Juliana Hurdle is the Lead Instructor at Club Pilates East Memphis. She is a native Memphian and graduate of St. Mary's Episcopal School and the University of Memphis B.A, M.A. She began her Pilates training in Sept. 2003 and completed an 800 hour Pilates Certification from the Ellie Herman Institute in March 2005. This 800 hour certification included rigorous in depth study of anatomy and kinesiology, Mat Pilates, and apparatus including Barrel, Cadillac, Foam Roller, Reformer, Springboard, Tower, and Wunda Chair. She has completed TRX and Barre Above certifications. She is well known for her evolved creative teaching style, her keen eye for alignment and technique, as well as an ability to tailor each class to the client's needs and goals. Juliana believes that Pilates provides the perfect foundation for any health and wellness or fitness regimen. From dancing, soccer, basketball, and track as a child, to all forms of exercise as an adult, movement has been a constant throughout her life. Diagnosed with scoliosis during a twin pregnancy in 2005/2006, Juliana is able to manage this with the Pilates Method. Pilates rehabilitated her post twin pregnancy body and aided in a healthy subsequent pregnancy in 2009/2010. When not in the studio, you can find Juliana running the trails, exploring clean eating recipes and remedies, at Memphis Tigers and Memphis Grizzles games, and chasing her three little boys in the great outdoors. Juliana is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and regularly attends workshops, conferences, and a variety of fitness classes to continue her education.
Kelsey Bryan is a Memphis native. She is a PMA certified pilates instructor and has been teaching for several years. She's certified in all classical pilates equipment, as well as pilates hammock. Before pilates she found her passion for physical fitness in gymnastics and circus arts, both of which she's taught as well. Kelsey also teaches aerial.
Samantha was born in Memphis and has been doing Pilates and yoga since 2010. She began her 200 hour YTT in January 2011, and her 800 hour Pilates teacher training in February 2011. She has been teaching Pilates since, and is a believer in movement has medicine. She plans on completing the physical therapy assistant (PTA) program in order to bring her knowledge of movement to those in different parts of the community.
Savannah Deaton, a native Memphian, is a 2008 graduate of Rhodes College where she lettered 4 years in softball. At Immaculate Conception High School she earned 11 varsity sports letters, and finished salutatorian of her class. Already appreciative of the importance of mind/body synergy, when she encountered the philosophy and methods of Joseph Pilates she was and instant convert. His emphasis on flexibility, strength and stamina while focusing on core posture muscles necessary for proper posture that facilitated a body balanced with spinal alignment, allowed her to overcome a chronic rotor cuff injury suffered in high school sports. Savannah recently completed the 500-hour comprehensive Club Pilates Education Program and is certified in TRX and Barre Above. She is dedicated to bringing enthusiasm to each class while catering to the skills of each individual. When not in the gym Savannah is an avid reader and can be found walking the Greenline with her beloved Catahoula Sookie.
Scarlett has an extensive Pilates and Yoga background. Teaching since 2006, her certifications are in Power Pilates beginner, intermediate, and advanced mat. In 2009 she completed a year-long comprehensive program and was certified in all Pilates apparatuses. Scarlett also earned her 200 hour Yoga Alliance teacher training certificate in 2010 through the YogaWorks export program, and her 300 hour YA certificate in 2014 with Annie Carpenter's SmartFLOW program.
Originally from Brazil, Simone Lima began her exploration for rehab in college, she graduated in Occupational Therapy in 1999 and found in Pilates an opportunity to enhance her knowledge in working with physical and neurological disabilities. She is certified through Physicalmind Institute-NY and has been working with Pilates for 17 years. Her certification focus in rehab, postural alignment and body awareness. She has also a Master’s Degree in Special Education so does an additional post degree in Sports Science. She is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Tonya has been actively involved in the fitness industry here in Memphis area since 1991. Tonya is a Pilates and Group Fitness Instructor, and over the years she has held others titles such as Personal trainer and Pilates Manager. Her background in dance, competitive gymnastics, and cheerleading is what lead her to pursue a career in fitness. Tonya's Pilates training begin in 2005 with Reformer 1 at Prairie Life Fitness. She has completed Comprehensive Pilates certification through Balanced Body University, and over 400 teacher training hours. She has completed TRX, Barre Above, and Trigger Point certifications. Tonya also holds B.S. Degree in Health Physical Education, and Wellness from the University of Central Arkansas, and is a Certified Group Exercise Instructor through AFAA, and Les Mills, Booty Barre plus and Flex and Flow. Tonya has work with all ages and levels of students. Tonya believes that Pilates and fitness go hand in hand and is great for all levels from beginners to the super fit. She enjoys teaching a fun high energy class , with a focus on proper form and function. Tonya is married, has a daughter, two step daughters, 3 grandchildren, and two dogs and she resides in Collierville.
Kate grew up in Memphis where she earned her B.A. in English at Ole Miss and later her M.A. in Journalism from the University of Memphis. She's worked in marketing in both corporate and agency settings. She loves writing both professionally and personally. She currently has a personal blog she uses to connect with people who experience depression and anxiety. She really began her fitness journey in early 2016 and learned that it could help her overcome anxiety and have a more joyful outlook on life. Then she found Pilates. It helped her reshape her body like nothing else had as well as offer her relief from anxiety. She believes that Pilates is so much more than physical fitness. It's a way to learn awareness of the body and take that awareness into your everyday life to live better and more joyful and fulfilled. She began teacher training in early 2017 and has since finished her 500 comprehensive instructor training. Some of her favorite classes to teach are Cardio Sculpt, CP Restore and CP Suspend! When she's not teaching you can find her enjoying the outdoors with her dog Fitz, reading a good book or planning her next travel adventure!
Tamara Prince-Parrish is happy to join the Club Pilates family. She has been an active professional member of the arts community in Memphis, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, and Georgia for 17 years. Being in the world of professional dancer/choreographer/and teacher, has allowed Tamara many teaching and performance opportunities. Tamara spent over a year studying under Kit Matthews, Master Trainer with Club Pilates, where she has been teaching since January 2018. Her training includes a comprehensive background in Mat, Reformer, Chair, and Springboard. Tamara also has a TRX Suspesion Training certification. Tamara is a Nationally Qualified Figure Competitor with the National Physique Committee. She’s is also a Personal Trainer. Tamara believes “Patience is a Virtue” which she loves to have with her clients.
Staying active and keeping fit has always been an integral part of Brittany’s life. When Brittany began her personal Pilates practice, she was attracted to the total mind/body focus that the exercise demanded. She believes that one of the biggest benefits of Pilates is its emphasis on core strength and body control. “I love how Pilates is literally for all bodies, and the fact that every exercise can be modified or progressed.” Brittany completed a comprehensive teacher training program through Club Pilates. She is certified in Mat Pilates, on the Reformer, Springboard, Trapeze Table/Cadillac, Chair, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel, Magic Circle, and in TRX Suspension Training. “I was three months postpartum when I began teacher training. I was amazed at how quickly it helped me get back in shape, and how much it improved my balance and coordination.” Prior to becoming a Pilates instructor, Brittany attended Hutchison School, The University of Memphis and Lees McRae College. Brittany is from Collierville, Tennessee, where she lives on a family horse farm. When Brittany is not in the studio, she enjoys spending time with her one year old son and her family, helping care for the animals on the farm and riding horses. Brittany truly loves sharing her passion for Pilates with clients.
