  • Hydro Excavation

Hydro excavation is a safe way to dig, which is non-destructive and non-mechanic. We frequently use hydro excavation for: • Potholing • Remote Locations • Asphalt / Concrete Removal • Utility Disposal • Trenching • Piling holes • Horizontal Drilling • Drill-shaft Cutting For a safe, precise, cost-effective and environmentally friendly method of excavation, Hill Services offers complete Hydro-Excavation Services, a process that utilizes pressurized water to break up and remove soils. Hydro excavation can uncover fiber optic cables, petroleum pipelines, natural gas pipelines, water utilities, telephone lines, and other subsurface equipment. This method of digging can be done with precision and when excavating in the vicinity of underground utilities is a much faster method. Debris and materials are collected using vacuum equipment, maintaining a nearly dust-free operation. SAFETY is the number one benefit to hydro excavation. Under ground strikes can be catastrophic and the damage can be very costly. The combination of pressurized water and air vacuum provides the most efficient and safe way to dig in highly sensitive areas.

  • Trenchless Technology

When main lines leak or corrode, they can damage above ground surfaces, cause pollution, and start severe flooding in treatment or industrial facilities. Hill Services uses various trenchless technologies to combat these and other problems caused by Inflow and Infiltration (I&I), including: • The most technologically advanced methods of Cured in Place Piping (CIPP), including Inversion, Pull in Place and Point Repair. • Pipe Bursting. • Structural Spin Casting or Direct Spray methods. • Able to withstand heat, caustics and high pressure, commonly found in Industrial settings.

  • Cured in Place Piping

As a trenchless technology, CIPP does not require excavation to rehabilitate a pipeline that is either leaking or structurally unsound. Depending upon design considerations an excavation may be made, but the liner is often installed through a manhole or other existing access point. Anything larger than 60" must be excavated in order to install. Liner is installed as it is wet out on site in these instances. In the case of sewer lines, lateral connections are also restored without excavation via a remote controlled device that drills a hole in the liner at the point of the lateral connection. If larger than 24" and it is safe to do so someone will reinstate laterals by hand. CIPP has a smooth interior and no joints. While CIPP can repair a pipe with bends, special design considerations must be taken into account to prevent wrinkling and stretching. CIPP can effectively reduce infiltration and leaks in pipeline systems without digging.

  • Pipe Bursting

Pipe replacement by pipe bursting Pipe bursting is a trenchless method of replacing buried pipelines (such as sewer, water, or natural gas pipes) without the need for a traditional construction trench. "Launching and receiving pits" replace the trench needed by conventional pipe-laying. Methodology: An expanding device called an expander head, which may be either pneumatic or hydraulic, is introduced into the defective pipeline through a launching pit. As it travels through the pipeline toward the receiving pit it breaks the pipe into many small pieces, pushing the pieces into the surrounding soil. New pipe is attached to the back of the expander head, replacing the line immediately.

  • Video Inspection

CCTV INSPECTION FOR PIPELINES Hill Services Inc. provides closed circuit television inspection (CCTV) for pipeline inspection and drain inspection. CCTV inspection services allow operators to monitor pipes and pinpoint problems such as cracks, breaks, sags, and obstructions, without costly shutdown or dewatering. CCTV inspection services are good for monitoring pipe constructed with various materials, including metal, concrete, plastic, and fiberglass. CCTV inspection for pipelines utilizes state-of-the art robotic crawlers and CCTV inspection cameras with real-time imaging for inspection of pipes. Pipeline video inspection allows operators to investigate unexplained flow conditions, inspect pipe walls and liners, locate lost line valves, examine valve conditions, assess internal corrosion of metallic pipes, and inspect leak areas to assist repair planning. Hill Services Inc. high definition video equipment includes pan-and-tilt CCTV inspection cameras with rotation and illumination capabilities and all other necessary equipment for meeting certified standards and requirements for pipeline video inspection.

  • Manhole Rehab

Our manhole rehabilitation specialists can solve your manhole infiltration/inflow problems; restoring your structures to "better than new" condition in less time than it would take to replace them — and for a fraction of the cost. Epoxy: Our technicians use a wide range of 100% solids, zero-VOC epoxies to meet your exact requirements. These ultra high-build products can be sprayed or troweled-on to achieve a 1/4 inch (250 mil) wet-film thickness-on vertical or overhang surfaces without sagging. They are modifiable to meet specific flexural modulus and strength, cure fast even under water, and provide premium corrosion resistance where high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide, sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide, hydrocarbons and an array of other chemicals are present. Cementitious: We also perform cementitious manhole rehabilitation using products that are blended specifically for the job at hand. These unique, high-strength formulations allow a monolithic 1/2 inch to 3 inch one pass spray application that helps restore structural integrity to deteriorating manholes and provide a permanent seal against corrosion, infiltration and exfiltration.
